Today, a scientific seminar was held to discuss the proposed regulations for distance education, presented by the committees responsible for drafting them. Like any human endeavor that requires filling gaps, the participants in the seminar spent four continuous hours highlighting the essential, formal, objective, and constructive aspects necessary for issuing the optimal, best, and most suitable regulations. These regulations should be suitable for the leading Libyan university, The University of Benghazi. The participants also discussed the challenges of implementing these regulations in the current period due to the weakness of resources and capabilities. However, this does not mean that the regulations should not be developed for the future. It was suggested to include them along with Regulation 501 to make them part of the systems that the state can rely on in the future. The seminar’s recommendations will include the observations and the alternative draft regulations in the coming days. We thank the committees appointed by the university presidency to develop the regulations, as well as the participants in the seminar, for enriching this collective and beneficial work that represents the university. Special thanks go to Dr. Ahmed Al-Zarrouk Al-Ansari, and to all the participants, especially Dr. Abdelkarim Al-Ghazali, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the university.
May God bless everyone. Peace be upon you.
Dr. Muataz Abdulwahab Al-Ajool Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Law.
