The second regular meeting of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Office was held on Thursday, July 30, 2019, at 9:30 AM in the Meeting Hall at the Research and Consultation Center. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ayad Taher, the Office Director, and attended by the Heads of Quality Departments from the scientific colleges of the university and its branches.
During the meeting, the minutes of the first meeting of the year 2019 were approved. Dr. Taher emphasized the importance of celebrating World Quality Day, which falls on the second Thursday of November, to promote a culture of quality through the preparation of programs and activities. A preparatory committee for the celebration was formed, consisting of six heads of quality departments from the colleges.
Annual reports were also discussed, and Dr. Taher stressed the need to address the weaknesses mentioned in the reports. Work teams were formed according to the scientific disciplines of the university to organize the quality management work. Additionally, it was agreed to conduct workshops on strategic planning and course description.
Several recommendations were made regarding the difficulties hindering the implementation of quality in the colleges, with the aim of addressing and overcoming these difficulties to enable the application of quality practices that would enhance the educational process at the university.
Finally, Dr. Taher, the session chair, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the attendees, and the meeting adjourned at 1:00 PM.
